To defeat the Heimdall in a boss battle in God Of War Ragnarok, you will first need to defeat his ride, Gulltoppr. It is important to not take too much damage in this battle, since you are alone, there is no save with revival stone. Gulltoppr’s attacks are very basic and should be fought with the Axe and shield breaks. Dodging direct run attacks to the right and axe follow up swings will end Gulltoppr quickly. Heimdall will throw Bifrost attacks that if they hit you will reduce you in Gulltoppr’s attacks. Now, that your battle with Heimdall begins, you will not be able to land a hit until he is dazed by your Spear attacks.

Attacking Strategy to the Heimdall Boss Battle
Heimdall attack starts with super speed and the ability to dodge everything with his foresight. You will need to hit him with a series of 3 dazed events caused by exploding your spear in as he walks by. It works in series of three. First explosion creates a daze for Heimdall you will need to attack him on. Then 2 exploding spears will need to hit him, and then 3 exploding spears to trigger the final daze to land a hit.
Next, you can follow a strategy of attack and dodge. Attempting to block Heimdall’s attacks did not seem to work and made things more difficult. First attack Heimdall, before dodging his follow up volley backwards, once he lets up, hit him with an exploding spear and repeat. Heimdall has a one-off super fast attack that slows time but you should always be able to dodge when it comes at you.
Once the battle fires up, you will need to make sure you dodge every Bifrost attack you can. if you keep with the pattern of attack, dodge, explode spear and repeat, you should be able to complete the battle. Also, make sure you stay close enough to shield break Hemdall when he pulses attacks on the ground.

in this battle, I highly recommend spear attacks, as the weapon was create specifically to defeat Heimdall. I always recommend valor use to offset at any damage you might take and since you have no life line in this battle, it is the best
