WWE 2K22 Review

It has finally arrived!!! WWE 2K22 is here. After a two year wait the latest installment from the number one company in professional wrestling is here. While the trailers showed promise, will this make us forget the WWE 2K20?

WWE 2K22 Gameplay First-Thoughts

Visually there is nothing wrong with WWE 2K22. From the lighting and pyro to the new camera angles you feel like your at home watching an episode of WWE RAW.

After years of hearing complaints of the controls slowing down the overall gameplay, WWE 2K22 took a step in the right direction. Moving more to a fighting game approach, the game focuses more on a combo style. This time around you can see that they focus on making things simpler, adding much more fluidity to the match.

Impact on WWE 2K22

The past 2 years has affected the WWE like it did all businesses over that time. We’ve seen the many popular wrestlers released over this time. But fear not, WWE 2K22 boast a strong roster not only due to current superstars like Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns but also Legends such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock and the NWO (Rip Scott Hall). Thanks to the creation community, just about any wrestler can be made and shared amongst players (you’re welcome AEW fans). The attention to detail in the entrances on WWE 2k22 is top notch; it’s like watching a match on one of WWE’s Premium Live Events.

While many other sports games have incorporated the My GM mode into their games over the last few years to the delight of gamers. WWE seemingly went away from it for no particular reason. The decade plus hiatus is finally over as My GM mode has returned. You’re not just picking a brand, a couple of wrestlers and making some matches. Your overseeing the entire process from business (signing & managing contracts) to the creative side (booking shows & promos).
