Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker Gameplay

Here are some the first instances of gameplay in Endwalker: final fantasy 14 endwalker lady of light During the trip to Sharlayan, the Solitary Island Nation, you head to the front of the ship to your surprise you meeting the Lady of Light (not going to spoil that for you, but am glad it happened right out of the gate). The game story setup is definitely shocking considering who previously represented the Light. final fantasy 14 endwalker gaining entry Upon arriving, you find out that the city is not welcoming and several characters family past will be a major factor later on in the story some how. While other characters might be expelled from the city if they take one toe out of line. final fantasy 14 endwalker mission Did I mention the game is jammed pack right now. Could not even click on the mission from a PS5.

Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker Early Access Verdict

Regardless of the long wait time to get onto the server and it is definitely worth it. The first 30 minutes makes you want to play straight through to level 90 over the next 72 hours. I wonder if drinking Red Bull is still a thing.

Sons of the Forest – Update & Trailer

Finally!!!!! Sons of the Forest Update

We have been binge playing “The Forest” for the last six months waiting for the new trailer. The new trailer is finally here and the release date for the Sons of the Forest is set for May 20, 2022. sons of the forest new foes After being promised a third and final trailer with an official release date on Black Friday, EndNight games made us wait an additional five days. It was well worth the wait. The nearly two minute trailer showed all of the fans of the original open-world, survivor game “The Forest” that this sequel could be bigger and better. sons of the forest crafting The first upgrade you noticed in the first 30 seconds of the trailer is the attention to detail. In the “The Forest” to survive you had to boil water, hunt and skin animals, build tools etc. But there was a lot of simulation with those actions. Sons of the Forest takes it a step further by making you sharpening your handcrafted weapons, allowing you to eat raw animals (A Turtle too be exact) and building your own fires. I can’t be the only person who laughed then smiled when the shark swam across the water in what appeared to be down in a cave. Will we finally be able to not only kill them but also eat them? sons of the forest possible father In the final scene we see the main character (presumably Timmy) battling what appears to be a main monster inside of a laboratory (presumably) We hear a voice scream “Get down son”. Is this the return of the main character from “The Forest” Eric (Timmy’s dad)? How did he get there? He wasn’t one of the people who crashed in the plane in the first trailer? Is he a playable character? See the Full Trailer Below:

Jurassic World Evolution 2 Review

0
Times are turbulent when dinosaurs are free to roam in North America. Fortunately, perilous situations often present profitable opportunities. It just so happens the player has been tasked with the job of rounding up these free roaming predators. Establishing their very own Jurassic Park just happens to be a nifty perk that comes with the assignment.

Gameplay

jurassic world evolution 2 Following up with their first successful entry, the developer Frontier improves upon their initial formula for a park management simulator. This time they give the player multiple biomes to operate within instead of isolating them to the tropics. Maps have expanded in their scope. The immediate benefit is the greater amount of space to utilize for developing a successful park. One major feature that has been added to the game is the ability to speed up time. Want a chance to admire the visuals and nifty animations of the dinosaurs? Time can also be paused to accommodate this desire. This means the player can operate at their own leisure while they explore their park without being rushed in the process. The game will also have the player hire staff, establish fences and play with genetics to make the captured (or cloned) dinosaurs more docile. These elements mean less damage to the attractions. With the safety rating of the fences mattering in this installment, it also means you can keep your meaner dinosaurs from rampaging across the park. Then again, what are mishaps and lawsuits for if not for watching park attendees getting occasionally munched on by overgrown reptiles? Customization is highly detailed with this entry. Building colors can be altered and moved after they’ve been placed. If variety is truly the spice of life, gamers will rejoice. These elements provide the player ample opportunity to keep the setup of all the parks they’ll manage a chance to be varied. Aside from the main campaign, the game also provides alternate scenarios to the films within the Jurassic Park franchise through the Chaos Theory mode. It’s a welcome addition that adds a great deal of replay to the game. jurassic world evolution 2

Jurassic World Evolution 2 Graphics

The models for the dinosaurs are highly detailed. Given there are over 70 different species, this is a highly appreciated feature. Jeep excursions become more exciting when getting up close and personal with a roaring T-Rex. The biomes are beautifully detailed with a great emphasis placed on lights, colors and shadows. It’s a solid standard most players should come to expect from environments within their PS5 titles. We have to give the studio an A+ in this category.

Verdict

Frontier’s Jurassic World Evolution 2 is a remarkable improvement over its first installment. With lush scenery, more options geared towards park customization and the many different modes offered within the game, this title is a must have entry for the PS5.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Review

0
It’s important to mention that, Frogwares is no stranger to the character of Sherlock Holmes. Since the early part of the year 2000, they’ve been producing sleuthing adventures involving the famous, fictional detective. They’ve thrown their hat back into the ring once more. PlayStation 5 gamers will need their wits about them if they are to solve the mystery surrounding this new installment. sherlock holmes chapter 1

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Story

The Mediterranean backdrop of Cordona offers splendid sights for the budding detective. With a sunny backdrop and a beautiful mansion, one would think the excursion would prove pleasurable. This thought is only a fantasy. It is not an enticing vacation that attracts Holmes to the island. The mystery surrounding his own mother’s untimely demise drags him onto the adventure. The intrepid player will need to master Sherlock’s skills in perception when navigating the multiple twists and turns surrounding the case. This experience includes being wary of the many false leads that crop up during the course of the story.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Gameplay

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One gives the player many options in this open world adventure. For instance, the combat can be disabled in the game options. This is a nice inclusion for players who prefer the more investigative approach without allowing the action elements to interfere. Accompanying the detective is John. Not John Watson, but an imaginary John. He provides color commentary along with the occasional observation. Not that Sherlock is in much need of help when it comes to the deductions he’ll make on his own accord. Nonetheless, the addition is a welcome one. Most of the investigations occurring within the game are not exactly guided, so be prepared to take time thinking the solutions through when gathering clues and pursuing leads. One valuable hint we can impart is that Sherlock can don disguises. Use this feature to trick people into divulging crucial details. sherlock holmes chapter 1 game

Combat

Now if the player doesn’t mind getting into a fire fight, then leave the combat option on in the menu. During the open world exploration Sherlock will encounter the occasional fight with armed ruffians. The game gives the option to arrest or kill the enemy. Aside from provoking the occasional complaint from John, fatally dispatching the enemies has no bearing on the exploration. The only notable thing a player would be missing out on is cash rewards that would be yielded with a successful arrest. A reputational system would’ve been a nice addition. Still, we see why they eschewed it; the combat can be toggled off through the menu. Regardless, the addition of the action does make for a nice change of pace. Where Sherlock Holmes Chapter One excels is through the presentation. Character models and shadows look solid. The game offers a great deal of interactivity with the clues and articles that the player can examine. These elements come together to give the game an organic life of its own.

Verdict

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One provides an entertaining experience with its attention to detail and emphasis on exploration. This game requires some contemplation during the investigation. Given the player is donning the role of Scotland Yard’s most famous detective, we imagine few people would want it any other way.

Call of Duty Vanguard Review

Sledgehammer Games has the player locked and loaded for another round of the Call of Duty franchise. It’s a Nazi blasting adventure for the eighteenth entry in the series. With a cinematic sense of flair combined with the high adrenaline action the franchise is known for, Call of Duty Vanguard brings much excitement to the table. The whole premise of the game introduces the player to different specialists. These soldiers come together to form a special team, the titular Vanguard, to put a stop to a Nazi operation: Project Phoenix. call of duty vanguard story

Vanguard Story

The developers presented the story with a non-chronological focus. The purpose behind each segment of the campaign is to familiarize the player with each member of the Vanguard. In other words, we’re given origin stories to go with the formation of our dream team. The team has a great deal of chemistry with each other. Arthur Kingsley is the protective leader. Polina Petrova serves as the aloof sniper. Lucas Riggs is the demolitions expert. Wade Jackson is the thrill-seeking pilot. Topping off the team is Richard Webb, a cynical sergeant serving as the smart guy of the unit. Together, they stumble upon Project Phoenix, an insidious plot designed by the devious Hermann Freisinger. His goal is to establish another Reich via a military coup following Adolf Hiter’s demise. Unfortunately for Freisinger, the Vanguard isn’t too keen on a Nazi resurgence. Armed to the teeth, the Vanguard possess no qualms about blowing up any of the adversaries that stand between them and their mission to cripple the Nazi operation.

Call of Duty Vanguard Gameplay

Call of Duty Vanguard boasts quite a few similarities to Modern Warfare in its design. This is the result of both games using the Infinity Ward (IW) 8.0 engine. The benefit of this decision means players familiar with the previous entry will have little trouble getting used to this new title. The controls feel slick and responsive to the touch. The player will want the controls that way. The game itself is a first-person shooter where running and taking cover are both a necessity to survive the frantic action. Multiplayer offers something called Combat Pacing. The modes are Tactical, Assault and Blitz. Tactical is designed for a more methodical battle where the aim of the game is positioning. Think of older entries with two teams of six players duking it out to obtain the most frags. Assault increases the count to two teams of ten players each. Blitz is the most chaotic of these modes. It fosters in a challenge of two teams comprised of twenty-four players each. Given the scale of combat, dying will be a frequent occurrence in this mode of gameplay. Finally, the game has a Zombie mode where the player will have to take on hordes of undead Nazis. They move fast and want the player’s blood. Headshots and explosions are strongly recommended to put these resurrected baddies down once and for all. call of duty vanguard

In-Game Graphics

The visuals are impressive thanks to the IW 8.0 engine. Gorgeous usage of lights and shadows are utilized with the varied environments the game offers to make for an amazing visual experience. Whether it’s urban combat in a ruined village or a skirmish on a train moving forward at high speeds, the atmosphere will not fail to impress.

Verdict

Call of Duty Vanguard offers a strong story, which we hope to continue to see with future installments. While the game has familiar elements from previous entries, the developers changed just enough to keep the gameplay fresh. The campaign and multiplayer alike are the big draws to this title. Operating at a smooth 60 FPS on the PS5, we strongly recommend this entry in the Call of Duty franchise.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Review

0
Another take or another type of Guardians of the Galaxy is the best way to look at this new game review. Unlike the Guardians of the Galaxy team we are accustomed to from Movies, this Peter Quill aka Star Lord is exactly how a pirate who is a guardian but still a pirate should be in outer space or at least a first officer from galaxy class space ship I guess. Always worried about money, stopping fights between Rocket, Groot, Drax or Gamora while always getting his ship boarded or confiscated and not surprising, he has had a relationship with most of counterparts throughout the entire universe. There is a part of the game based on his past and as they dive back into his childhood to prepare him for what’s to come.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy First 30-minutes of Gameplay

You start the game by breaking into a protected space that you hope to capture a monster, Peter Quinn was told about from someone he has had relations with using security codes they to break in with. You don’t get to play any of that breakdown but it goes to show how much goes on in the game. So this was interesting to say the least as you learn more about the basic controls and functions only through game play. First, you play the main character of the game and that it nonoptional. You do have to use the other to get through the game. Each character offers a skill to overcome the terrain. In the first 30 minutes, you spend most time getting accustomed to the difference between rocket jumps up and across as you figure out your footing. You learn basic shooting, targeting and scans. Honestly, until you start battling, you’re just dealing with conversational issues.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Gameplay After an Hour

By this point, we have been fighting basic battles, learning how to call guardians to attack groups of enemies and defeat enemies based on the guardian you call. You learn about upgrades based on parts you collect that can only be applied at a bench. There are some spacecrafts flying you do manage but for the most part, the first hour is all training. However, you do learn that decisions you make in the game directly affect what you can and cannot do later in the game. Looking into those choices may be something to note as I am already upset with something I can’t take back until next time I play.

Leveling Up System for the Gameplay

Leveling is essential to your Guardian Team ability to fight large groups of enemies. Everyone, including Star Lord, can be leveled up with points earned in battle. However, you have to level them up all on the same points. Deciding who level’s up and what abilities they will have to help the team can decide a battle later on the game. While you have to level each character up with the same points, a lot of Star Lords abilities come from modifying his gear. Slowing time, weapon magic modifications and better stats only come from modifying his gear so make sure you lookout for parts to expand his abilities if you choose to upgrade the team with level points.

Combat of the Game

Game combat is definitely different than what is use to in a standard game play. You will need to pay attention to your entire team while battling. Reviving them and unleashing their abilities at specific targets can throw you if you are not used to battling. Then there’s the pep talk Quinn gives to motivate the team giving them ability boosts to battle tough opponents. For this part you have to pay attention to the mood of the team to answer correctly to execute an effective pep talk.

Graphics in the Game

The game definitely has some spectacular moments in space and locations you might find yourself simply admiring. On a 4k screen on PS5, the gameplay is otherwise optimal. Playing as Star Lord with some of his dodging can throw the camera a bit, so definitely be prepared for that.

Verdict on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

Guardians of the Galaxy game is definitely a holiday pick up for PS5, Xbox series x or PC. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy the game this much after the learning curve. It’s worth a pick up.

God of War Ragnarök Updates from PlayStation showcase 2021

0
The new God of War Ragnarök gameplay was exciting in the PlayStation showcase but left everyone pondering still when the game would be making its release to the world. First, it is important to note that Atreus is much older and it seems to be more capable of enhanced battle capabilities. He was seen riding a bow-charged giant deer into battle. Next, the Norse world is definitely more alive than the first installment of the Norse God of War. With only the dwarves who create Thor’s hammer as the only other people not in hiding. You can see people walking around as Kratos and Atreus are boating around this new world. god of war ragnarok fighting There were some exciting enemies like toad monsters, modified ogres, what appears to be android/statue-like enemies, and a Centaurus. Wait, were not Centaurs but Centaurus in Norse Mythology. I checked and it looks like there are. god of war ragnarok world The world seems to be brighter and possibly made up of the worlds that were not accessible in the first Norse God of War. It didn’t seem like there was anything similar in this new world version except maybe Kratos home which appears to be placed differently from the first game.

Character Developments for the God of War Ragnarök

god of war ragnarok freya Freya makes an early appearance in the gameplay and appears to lock in unrelenting anger and vengeance for the death of her son Baldur against Kratos. Since she looks like she has the ability to fight as she might, it must mean Odin has released her from her bonds to Midgard when she pledges to kill Kratos. god of war ragnarok tyr Tyr, the Norse God of War makes an appearance as he is freed by Kratos and Atreus. Looking like he is ready to fight the rest of the Asgard. god of war ragnarok thor Thor, God of Thunder makes the same appearance as he did at the end of the first Norse God of War game with no new developments. god of war ragnarok giant One of the last Giants makes an appearance at the end of the gameplay. Looks like Atreus is not as alone as we thought at the end of the first Norse God of War.

Surprising Info from Santa Monica on God of War Ragnarök

According to Santa Monica, Ragnarök happens in this game and ends the Norse installment of God of War. So everything goes down in this next release of God of War and that would include Odin battles, Thor, and more. Wait, does that mean 2023 like Spiderman 2? Again, there was no new news on the release date of God of War Ragnarök.

How to Beat Hades Bosses on PS5

0
To defeat a boss on Hades, you will need to prepare for this battle. Building out your stats in the mirror of night will be the first thing. the most important stat is extending your death defiance in the Mirror of Night. However, all stats need to be enhanced to really be powerful. The next thing you will need is to unlock your weapons and to do that you will need to play enough to collect keys. The next area of growth is with your keepsakes. By showing favor tot he the gods, you receive an item that gives you the ability to gain one of their powers instantly. As you expand  the underworld with gems unlock the ability to change Keepsakes after beating a boss. This can help increase your odds to gain all the god powers you need to leave the underworld.

Since God Powers are randomized, selecting the right power is easier said then down. Here are some winning combinations powers and weapons to use to get to the surface. hades zeus aid attack

Recommended Weapon

Use the Shield of Chaos. This shield is the perfect weapon for long distant and close fighting. The Shield of Chaos weapon can bash, dash-strike, be thrown, and used for a bull rush.

Top God Powers to Use

hades on ps5 death strike Ares “Curse of Pain” power used as Special Attack. With Doom, the attack can be thrown from across the room and the monster will be destroyed without ever entering your screen. Athena power of “Divine Strike” used as main attack. This power not only increases the damage but it deflects every magic attack that is thrown at you. This comes in handy in all boss battles, and magic attacks. It does not deflect fire balls of lava or lasers. Zeus power “Zeus’s Aid”. This god power throws down lightening and destroyed all enemies in the surrounding area. Poseidon or Demeter can be used for their dash power. In the underworld, water and ice have a particular effect on monsters when attacked after dashing.

Fighting Strategy for Bosses

hades divine strike deflected If you have Ares first in the first area of the underworld. You can attack the harpies with Doom from a distance and keep moving. As long as you keep moving and throwing your shield, the boss will be finished in no time. Note: You should increase the doom power as you move through the underworld. The Greater the Doom, the easier the fight. If you already do not have, the next God to add with a keepsake is Athena. Deflect is vital to using back attacks and preventing damage. Next, make sure you acquire Zeus’s aid. With a fully charged power gauge, you can knock down most bosses health. So attacking with Doom and Divine Strike, will increase the gauge rapidly. Finally, make sure you have a god power in Dash, to offset your traveling through the underworld. Poseidon or Demeter are preferred and solidify your power advantage over all bosses you face.

Hades on PS5 Review

0
This is more me than the review but like many, I loved Hades on Nintendo Switch. I mean countless hours spent on working my way through the underworld and tasting that sweet fresh air like Orpheus did. With that said, I love it way more now that it is on PS5. The controls feel better, and the graphics are amazing and will jump on Hades whenever I need some me time. Even though it has been out since last year, it is defiantly the best PS5 game of August. hades on ps5 ice run PlayStation 5 users that have been clamoring for a roguelike are in luck. Hades, which had been previously released on the PC and Switch, has now been ported over to Sony’s newest console. The core game and experience remain intact from the previous iterations. Think of a hack-and-slash role-playing game blended with an isometric perspective. Let’s dive into this Underworld adventure.

The Story of Hades

hades on throne after death The player takes on the mantle of Zagreus. He’s the son of Hades, the titular villain. Zagreus wants out of the Underworld to reunite with his mother Persephone on the surface. Of course, his father isn’t particularly keen on his son barging out of his dreary domain. Denizens of the underworld unite to hinder Zagreus’ escape plan. They’re tough, vast in numbers and prepared to make Zagreus dead. Perhaps deader, given his residency and lineage? Zagreus’ journey will lead him into a showdown his father. Win, and he will learn the truth behind his mother’s exodus. Without spoiling anything, we will advise his adventure is ultimately cyclical regarding the end goal. The finale makes for a bitter irony that fits in well as an addition to the Greek mythos and its tragic mode of storytelling.

Graphics and Visuals

The action takes place with a top-down view reminiscent of Diablo. Graphically, the venues vary from gloomy catacombs to lakes of fire and brimstone. One particularly nice attention to detail is some of the rock slabs have bones clenching the side of them like a gnarled hand. The visuals are explosive, literally in some instances, and make this game a real treat for the eyes.

Hades Gameplay

For Zagreus to succeed, he’s going to need weapons and powerups. Fortunately, he has quite a few varieties that can make for some interesting runs. These infernal arms are the Stygian Blade, Eternal Spear, Shield of Chaos, Heart-Seeking Bow, Twin Fists of Malphon and the Adamant Rail. Titan blood is used to unlock upgrades to these weapons. Some are melee intensive while others revolve around projectile spam. Outside of these weapon sets, Zagreus is equipped with a dash. Incorporating dashes into the player strategy is a must to survive in the unforgiving land of the dead. Alongside these weapons are items, boons from the gods, keys (these unlock weapons and skills) In the likely event Zagreus gets killed during the game he will respawn in front of his father. Upon his respawn, he will lose all upgrades and boons, meaning death can prove itself to be a severe setback to a run. Proceed with an air of caution. There are several levels to traverse with bosses escalating in difficulty throughout each one.

Review of Hades on PS5

Delightful visuals, strong music and voice acting, blended with colorful visuals makes this title a must have for PS5 owners. If you’re new to roguelikes this game is not a bad way to cut your teeth in on them. It’s got the difficulty and an awesome story to boot. With a plethora of builds to choose from, repeated runs do not get old. All the love and care from developer Supergiant comes together to produce a classic in the making.

Tribes of Midgard Review

Bring on the hordes, Valhalla is under siege! Norsfell, the developers of Tribes of Midgard have adopted an interesting formula with their latest title for the PC, PS4 and PS5. Take Viking mythology, a crafting system, cooperative gameplay with an emphasis on survival and toss them all into a blender. The final product is an action roleplaying game that’ll keep a player on their toes with its roguelike setup and colorful visuals. tribes of midgard battle

Seed of Yggdrasil

The Norse Gods have entrusted the brave heroes of Valhalla with the seed of Yggdrasil during the end days of the world. Monsters have caught wind of this and are planning their assault on the precious seed. The entire focus of the game revolves around protecting the seed within the player settlement. To safeguard it, the player is tasked with slaying their enemies. We’re talking trolls and giants, nasty creatures that get stronger as the days progress. If the monsters overwhelm the encampment and destroy the seed, Ragnarök will befall the world. If the world ending event occurs, that is a definite game over. Fortunately, there are ways to prolong survival within the game. Large segments of the world are randomly generated. This means the experience will differ radically from session to session. Before enemy waves attack, the player is given time to explore during the day. Weapon crafting, fortification and armor building are the chief focus before nighttime. When night falls, the aforementioned trolls and giants will come to besiege the encampment. These monsters play for keeps and are relentless in their assault, especially as the game progresses. Slack on the fortification and it’ll be game over. While cooperative play is strongly encouraged for the ideal experience, there are options for solo play. When there are less players in the session, the game does scale back the monster difficulty, which is excellent for balancing. tribes of midgard game

Tribes of Midgard Classes

Class variety is another major perk of the game. As the game progresses, the player will unlock difficult classes, outfits and runes for their Viking. Each class has a different area of focus. Berserkers, for instance, are all about brute force. Hunters specialize in trap setting. Rangers are the archers of the game. These are only a few of the classes the player can choose from in the game.   tribes of midgard character

Game Graphics

The visuals are done in a cell-shaded style. Everything looks colorful and vibrant within the world of Midgard. Player customization is nice within this realm as well. There are large variety of outfits and different character features to select from when creating the player’s avatar.

Conclusion on Tribes of Midgard

The game is available for the PC, PS4 and PS5. There is a roguelike element at play. This means it is easy to lose progress. That’s a nice way of saying it’s easy to die too. Players can expect plenty of challenge in this time-based roleplaying adventure. Tribes of Midgard has it all. Vibrant visuals, resource gathering, a crafting system and fast gameplay with scaling difficulty.
