“The Book of Boba Fett”

tv article winter 2022 1 If you love all the action and drama of “Star Wars” and “The Mandalorian”, you won’t want to miss “The Book of Boba Fett”. The galaxy’s favorite bounty hunter finally received the recognition he deserves by getting a series dedicated to him. In “The Mandalorian”, the illustrious son of Jango Fett made his grand appearance back into the spotlight. After a sequence of events within the Mandalorian’s show, we got a teaser that depicted Boba taking the throne that once belonged to Jabba the Hutt. On December 29th, 2021, the series officially launched, and you can now catch four out of the seven slated episodes on Disney+.

“The Witcher”

tv article winter 2022 2 The hit franchise known as “The Witcher” is constantly praised for being one of the most in-depth, dynamic and overall enjoyable series to date. On December 20, 2019, the esteemed monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia, received his own exclusive television series on Netflix. Not only is the complete first season available to watch, the second one is too! And to make the experience even better, the show was approved for a third season. So, you’ll have more to look forward after you binge watch this epic series!

“Community”

If you’re looking for a show that’s a slice of life with some pointed humor, then you’re going to thoroughly enjoy “Community”. Though the show met its end in 2015,it’s still one of the most celebrated comedies to grace TV. The show begins with a lawyer named Jeff Winger, who’s played by comedian Joel McHale, being forced to enroll in community college after the bar discovers he faked his law degree. From the first episode, he meets a colorful cast of diverse characters, like the ambitious and anxious Annie Edison and the unfiltered senior (literally) student, Pierce Hawtorne. You can enjoy this chaotic six-season show on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Hulu.

“Avatar: The Last Airbender”

“Avatar: The Last Airbender” is one of the oldest shows on this list and is the predecessor to “Avatar: Legend of Korra”. It’s also considered to be one of the greatest shows to ever be produced by Nickelodeon. The show saw its debut on February 5th, 2005 and ended on July 19th, 2008. You’ll see the story of Aang, a boy who faces his destiny of being Avatar with siblings Katara and Sokka of the Water Tribe, the blind, Earth-bending prodigy Toph, and his animal companions, Appa the Bison and Momo the lemur. There are three seasons for you to enjoy this action-packed, element-manipulating tale, which you can find on Paramount+, Amazon Prime video and Netflix.

“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba”

One thing we love about TV is how many new characters and fascinating universes it introduces us to. Nothing captures both more fully than the anime genre. Anime is where imagination comes to life. While there’s almost an endless amount of anime to watch, none has captured the hearts over the past year more than “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba”. This series originated as a manga back during February 15th, 2016 and ended on May 18th, 2020 at 23 volumes. But before the manga ended, “Demon Slayer” got an anime adaptation on April 6th, 2019. WARNING: If you’re not one for darker stories or anything with dark aspects, you might want to keep scrolling. “Demon Slayer” does have a gritty tone. The story begins with the character Tanjiro Kamado, a boy who lives in the mountains with his family, notably his sister, Nezuko Kamado. However, things take a drastic turn for the worst when Tanjiro returns to find his entire family slaughtered by a demon named Muzan and his sister turned into one herself. From there, he sets out on a journey to cure his sister and avenge his family by defeating the Twelve Kizuki, who are the strongest demons commandeered by Muzan.

“Stranger Things”

Whether you lived through the 80s or not, experience the best the decade has to offer through the highly-atmospheric Netflix series. From a neon-bathed shopping mall to all the best pop-culture references, the small town of Hawkins, Indiana, recreates the past with a sci-fi twist. The story begins with a young boy named Will Byers vanishing into thin air. This leads to the boy’s mother, Joyce Byers, setting out to find him by any means necessary. With the help of police chief Jim Hopper, they discover that the Hawkins National Laboratory isn’t all it seems to be. Meanwhile, a young girl with telekinesis with the elusive name Eleven escapes from the labs and joins the cast. Through her eyes and unique skills, the children soon discover that life is far more than meets the eye. In fact, there’s an entire universe out there they’ve never even imagined possible. “Stranger Things” saw its debut on July 15, 2016 and currently has three full seasons for you to enjoy. The fourth season is set to air sometime this year, which will ultimately conclude one of the most popular shows of the last decade.

Kick Back and Start Streaming!

Now that you know what to watch, all that’s left for you to do is kick back and enjoy the show! Don’t forget to let your favorite streaming platform recommend some titles, too. After you add any of these gems to your list, you’ll be shown other series that are just as satisfying!

PlayStation VR2 Coming for PS5

0
The year 2022 may have just started, but gaming will never end; it’s only going to get better from here on out. Our friends at Sony Interactive Entertainment are already on the ball with their recent addition to the PlayStation family: The PlayStation VR2 for the PlayStation 5!

What’s In Store

On October 13, 2016, PlayStation released its first iteration of VR gaming. The PlayStation VR revolutionized gaming in ways that were once thought impossible. For the past six years, however, people have been grabbing their controllers and equipping their VR headsets to jump right into the game itself. The PlayStation VR2 for the PS5 improves upon the features of its predecessor while bringing new depth to the world of virtual reality gaming. The PSVR was capable of outputting an impressive resolution of 960×1080, but the PSVR2 takes it a few steps further with a resolution of 2000×2400 within each eye! Accompanying this is a 4K high-dynamic range (HDR), a 110-degree field of view (FOV) and foveated rendering. If you’re new to the world of VR gaming, foveated rendering is a special technique that uses an eye-tracking system to make things easier to render. This makes fast-paced games, like Beat Saber and Sniper Elite VR, run a lot smoother.

How the PSVR2 Will Differ From the PSVR

The PSVR2 not only tracks your movement, it also tracks your controller’s movements as well. Thanks to the new tracking mechanics of the integrated cameras within the headset, the player’s movements are smoothly reflected in-game. This means using an external camera to track movement is no longer required. It wouldn’t be a VR game if you weren’t able to fully immerse every inch of yourself into it. The implementation of headset feedback can make you feel as if you’re truly the main protagonist. According to PlayStation themselves, you’ll even be able to feel a character’s elevated pulse in tense situations.

Looking Ahead

Something we need to bring up is whether or not the PSVR2 is wireless as that used to be a common complaint. The first PSVR required extensive wiring, which could quickly become cumbersome. While the PSVR2 isn’t totally wireless, it only comes with one wire from the headset. All you need to do is plug it into your PS5, which is then plugged into the headset via a USB port. There’s no exact release date as of yet, but the product is set to release sometime in 2022. All we have to do is be a little bit more patient, and we’ll be able to experience VR gaming like never before!

With the undisclosed information about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla update, Ubisoft has released the worldwide trailer for the new DLC, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok.

First Reaction to news of an Update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

With the trailer launching, all we can think is, do I need to get the assassins creed main game completed in order to play the Dawn of Ragnarok? And how long will it take to fully get back to fighting fit to play like I did when the game is released.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok Trailer

And attack fire foes for Fire powers. dawn of ragnarok ice absorbed Odin then draws and charges a bow with what looks like ice force back at a fire enemy shooting fire at him. dawn of ragnarok ice shot Then he attacks and absorbs a fire foe. dawn of ragnarok fire power Odin then charges his weapons with fire force as he approaches the boss foe a fire giant. dawn of ragnarok fire power battle

New Boss to Defeat

In the original gameplay of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Odin or havi fight with an ice giant after he steals mead from the vault. In this trailer , it seems like a completely different interaction. Less relying on past skills and focused more on new powers. This fire giant also appears to be a much greater foe from the first giant battles. dawn of ragnarok giant If element fighting is any, it may be that you will need both powers to block and damage the boss foe. Time will tell.

Tribes of Midgard Season 2: Serpent Saga Starts December 14

Tribes of Midgard Season 2: Serpent Saga New Breaks

After 100 hours of Tribes of Midgard, it is exciting to hear that season 2 is starting up with new features, areas, bosses, and abilities for gameplay. Tribes of Midgard Season 2: The Serpent Saga is launching on Tuesday, December 14 on PlayStation 5, and is free to all players who already own the game. The current season 1 of tribes of Midgard is a world-based challenge that starts with you attempting to craft up weapons, working within your tribe to explore and conquer every area on the map. With night battles and Jotunn giant trying to destroy your seed of Yggdrasil.

New Players to Tribes of Midgard

One piece of advice that I have for every person I suggest to play, make sure you have at least an hour. In season 1, crafting, building, fighting, protecting the village, and fighting Jo is a long process that you get lost in. You will not notice until an hour goes by that you have been playing for this long. The newest updates to Tribes of Midgard will make gameplay a lot better as they correct elements missing from season 1. The newest features include Boating, swimming, and the Saga 2 boss.

Season 2 allows Viking to Swim

tribes of midgard season 2 swimming Swimming hands down is the ability they are giving the Vikings. I cannot stress how many times I had to decide on whether or not to completely abandon my chest after falling off a cliff into the ocean from dodging an enemy attack. Now, instead of the sad acknowledgment of a lost chest, I’ll be able to retrieve my lost chest on a cliff. Wait, what happens if you cannot make it to shore and you drown? Do you lose your gear when you drown? Well, it will be worth finding out in gameplay.

What Boating means to Tribe of Midgardtribes of midgard season 2 boats

Resources may be required from Day 1, to ensure developing a boat as the days continue. Current screenshots show a design element in boat crafting. I am sure like with clothing selections, boats will have a preset element to them. Another thought is, will boats automatically come to you, or if you abandon ship, will you have to travel back to your boat no matter where you left it? Another thought is, will you be able to teleport to your boat from your village?

Ocean Trails and Bosses

With the ability to build and operate a boat in the Tribes of Midgard, we will be able to explore vast lands and obstacles where the ocean is required. If the mythology holds out, we may face snake-like monsters on the water, giants who freeze the ocean to cross it, and more. There is also a possibility of discovering small island installations with treasure or a hord sea monsters to defeat for treasure.

New Saga Bosses

tribes of midgard season 2 attacks The open ocean is vast and endless as are the mythical beasts that inhabit it. The new saga bosses may have an element of water that could manifest in the center of the map’s ocean. Getting there may be the only way to defeat the saga boss in season 2. It has been said that they will keep the saga boss Fenrir. Meaning you planning to attack saga bosses could come down to going to one before the other. It may also be that Fenrir will be easier to defeat in season 2 as the level for the season 2 saga boss would have to be higher. Other addons to Tribes of Midgard Season 2: The Serpent Saga include that will now have 40 of Runes for use in gameplay as well as the expected new gifts and pets within the Yule of Yggdrasil seasonal yulidays.

Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker Early Access

0
Today is the start of Early Access with Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker, and it has been along time since I was “players in queue: 2813” on PS5. The highly anticipated release has players standing online to play and at all hour of the morning. At the end of the day it is the still jam packed with players. The Server has kicked me off a number of times on PS5 while waiting on a 1,000+ players in queue. final fantasy 14 endwalker packed

Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker Gameplay

Here are some the first instances of gameplay in Endwalker: final fantasy 14 endwalker lady of light During the trip to Sharlayan, the Solitary Island Nation, you head to the front of the ship to your surprise you meeting the Lady of Light (not going to spoil that for you, but am glad it happened right out of the gate). The game story setup is definitely shocking considering who previously represented the Light. final fantasy 14 endwalker gaining entry Upon arriving, you find out that the city is not welcoming and several characters family past will be a major factor later on in the story some how. While other characters might be expelled from the city if they take one toe out of line. final fantasy 14 endwalker mission Did I mention the game is jammed pack right now. Could not even click on the mission from a PS5.

Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker Early Access Verdict

Regardless of the long wait time to get onto the server and it is definitely worth it. The first 30 minutes makes you want to play straight through to level 90 over the next 72 hours. I wonder if drinking Red Bull is still a thing.

Sons of the Forest – Update & Trailer

Finally!!!!! Sons of the Forest Update

We have been binge playing “The Forest” for the last six months waiting for the new trailer. The new trailer is finally here and the release date for the Sons of the Forest is set for May 20, 2022. sons of the forest new foes After being promised a third and final trailer with an official release date on Black Friday, EndNight games made us wait an additional five days. It was well worth the wait. The nearly two minute trailer showed all of the fans of the original open-world, survivor game “The Forest” that this sequel could be bigger and better. sons of the forest crafting The first upgrade you noticed in the first 30 seconds of the trailer is the attention to detail. In the “The Forest” to survive you had to boil water, hunt and skin animals, build tools etc. But there was a lot of simulation with those actions. Sons of the Forest takes it a step further by making you sharpening your handcrafted weapons, allowing you to eat raw animals (A Turtle too be exact) and building your own fires. I can’t be the only person who laughed then smiled when the shark swam across the water in what appeared to be down in a cave. Will we finally be able to not only kill them but also eat them? sons of the forest possible father In the final scene we see the main character (presumably Timmy) battling what appears to be a main monster inside of a laboratory (presumably) We hear a voice scream “Get down son”. Is this the return of the main character from “The Forest” Eric (Timmy’s dad)? How did he get there? He wasn’t one of the people who crashed in the plane in the first trailer? Is he a playable character? See the Full Trailer Below:

Jurassic World Evolution 2 Review

0
Times are turbulent when dinosaurs are free to roam in North America. Fortunately, perilous situations often present profitable opportunities. It just so happens the player has been tasked with the job of rounding up these free roaming predators. Establishing their very own Jurassic Park just happens to be a nifty perk that comes with the assignment.

Gameplay

jurassic world evolution 2 Following up with their first successful entry, the developer Frontier improves upon their initial formula for a park management simulator. This time they give the player multiple biomes to operate within instead of isolating them to the tropics. Maps have expanded in their scope. The immediate benefit is the greater amount of space to utilize for developing a successful park. One major feature that has been added to the game is the ability to speed up time. Want a chance to admire the visuals and nifty animations of the dinosaurs? Time can also be paused to accommodate this desire. This means the player can operate at their own leisure while they explore their park without being rushed in the process. The game will also have the player hire staff, establish fences and play with genetics to make the captured (or cloned) dinosaurs more docile. These elements mean less damage to the attractions. With the safety rating of the fences mattering in this installment, it also means you can keep your meaner dinosaurs from rampaging across the park. Then again, what are mishaps and lawsuits for if not for watching park attendees getting occasionally munched on by overgrown reptiles? Customization is highly detailed with this entry. Building colors can be altered and moved after they’ve been placed. If variety is truly the spice of life, gamers will rejoice. These elements provide the player ample opportunity to keep the setup of all the parks they’ll manage a chance to be varied. Aside from the main campaign, the game also provides alternate scenarios to the films within the Jurassic Park franchise through the Chaos Theory mode. It’s a welcome addition that adds a great deal of replay to the game. jurassic world evolution 2

Jurassic World Evolution 2 Graphics

The models for the dinosaurs are highly detailed. Given there are over 70 different species, this is a highly appreciated feature. Jeep excursions become more exciting when getting up close and personal with a roaring T-Rex. The biomes are beautifully detailed with a great emphasis placed on lights, colors and shadows. It’s a solid standard most players should come to expect from environments within their PS5 titles. We have to give the studio an A+ in this category.

Verdict

Frontier’s Jurassic World Evolution 2 is a remarkable improvement over its first installment. With lush scenery, more options geared towards park customization and the many different modes offered within the game, this title is a must have entry for the PS5.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Review

0
It’s important to mention that, Frogwares is no stranger to the character of Sherlock Holmes. Since the early part of the year 2000, they’ve been producing sleuthing adventures involving the famous, fictional detective. They’ve thrown their hat back into the ring once more. PlayStation 5 gamers will need their wits about them if they are to solve the mystery surrounding this new installment. sherlock holmes chapter 1

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Story

The Mediterranean backdrop of Cordona offers splendid sights for the budding detective. With a sunny backdrop and a beautiful mansion, one would think the excursion would prove pleasurable. This thought is only a fantasy. It is not an enticing vacation that attracts Holmes to the island. The mystery surrounding his own mother’s untimely demise drags him onto the adventure. The intrepid player will need to master Sherlock’s skills in perception when navigating the multiple twists and turns surrounding the case. This experience includes being wary of the many false leads that crop up during the course of the story.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Gameplay

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One gives the player many options in this open world adventure. For instance, the combat can be disabled in the game options. This is a nice inclusion for players who prefer the more investigative approach without allowing the action elements to interfere. Accompanying the detective is John. Not John Watson, but an imaginary John. He provides color commentary along with the occasional observation. Not that Sherlock is in much need of help when it comes to the deductions he’ll make on his own accord. Nonetheless, the addition is a welcome one. Most of the investigations occurring within the game are not exactly guided, so be prepared to take time thinking the solutions through when gathering clues and pursuing leads. One valuable hint we can impart is that Sherlock can don disguises. Use this feature to trick people into divulging crucial details. sherlock holmes chapter 1 game

Combat

Now if the player doesn’t mind getting into a fire fight, then leave the combat option on in the menu. During the open world exploration Sherlock will encounter the occasional fight with armed ruffians. The game gives the option to arrest or kill the enemy. Aside from provoking the occasional complaint from John, fatally dispatching the enemies has no bearing on the exploration. The only notable thing a player would be missing out on is cash rewards that would be yielded with a successful arrest. A reputational system would’ve been a nice addition. Still, we see why they eschewed it; the combat can be toggled off through the menu. Regardless, the addition of the action does make for a nice change of pace. Where Sherlock Holmes Chapter One excels is through the presentation. Character models and shadows look solid. The game offers a great deal of interactivity with the clues and articles that the player can examine. These elements come together to give the game an organic life of its own.

Verdict

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One provides an entertaining experience with its attention to detail and emphasis on exploration. This game requires some contemplation during the investigation. Given the player is donning the role of Scotland Yard’s most famous detective, we imagine few people would want it any other way.

Call of Duty Vanguard Review

Sledgehammer Games has the player locked and loaded for another round of the Call of Duty franchise. It’s a Nazi blasting adventure for the eighteenth entry in the series. With a cinematic sense of flair combined with the high adrenaline action the franchise is known for, Call of Duty Vanguard brings much excitement to the table. The whole premise of the game introduces the player to different specialists. These soldiers come together to form a special team, the titular Vanguard, to put a stop to a Nazi operation: Project Phoenix. call of duty vanguard story

Vanguard Story

The developers presented the story with a non-chronological focus. The purpose behind each segment of the campaign is to familiarize the player with each member of the Vanguard. In other words, we’re given origin stories to go with the formation of our dream team. The team has a great deal of chemistry with each other. Arthur Kingsley is the protective leader. Polina Petrova serves as the aloof sniper. Lucas Riggs is the demolitions expert. Wade Jackson is the thrill-seeking pilot. Topping off the team is Richard Webb, a cynical sergeant serving as the smart guy of the unit. Together, they stumble upon Project Phoenix, an insidious plot designed by the devious Hermann Freisinger. His goal is to establish another Reich via a military coup following Adolf Hiter’s demise. Unfortunately for Freisinger, the Vanguard isn’t too keen on a Nazi resurgence. Armed to the teeth, the Vanguard possess no qualms about blowing up any of the adversaries that stand between them and their mission to cripple the Nazi operation.

Call of Duty Vanguard Gameplay

Call of Duty Vanguard boasts quite a few similarities to Modern Warfare in its design. This is the result of both games using the Infinity Ward (IW) 8.0 engine. The benefit of this decision means players familiar with the previous entry will have little trouble getting used to this new title. The controls feel slick and responsive to the touch. The player will want the controls that way. The game itself is a first-person shooter where running and taking cover are both a necessity to survive the frantic action. Multiplayer offers something called Combat Pacing. The modes are Tactical, Assault and Blitz. Tactical is designed for a more methodical battle where the aim of the game is positioning. Think of older entries with two teams of six players duking it out to obtain the most frags. Assault increases the count to two teams of ten players each. Blitz is the most chaotic of these modes. It fosters in a challenge of two teams comprised of twenty-four players each. Given the scale of combat, dying will be a frequent occurrence in this mode of gameplay. Finally, the game has a Zombie mode where the player will have to take on hordes of undead Nazis. They move fast and want the player’s blood. Headshots and explosions are strongly recommended to put these resurrected baddies down once and for all. call of duty vanguard

In-Game Graphics

The visuals are impressive thanks to the IW 8.0 engine. Gorgeous usage of lights and shadows are utilized with the varied environments the game offers to make for an amazing visual experience. Whether it’s urban combat in a ruined village or a skirmish on a train moving forward at high speeds, the atmosphere will not fail to impress.

Verdict

Call of Duty Vanguard offers a strong story, which we hope to continue to see with future installments. While the game has familiar elements from previous entries, the developers changed just enough to keep the gameplay fresh. The campaign and multiplayer alike are the big draws to this title. Operating at a smooth 60 FPS on the PS5, we strongly recommend this entry in the Call of Duty franchise.
